Cinnamon (dalchini) is the dried inner bark of the cinnamon tree, grown in the high ranges of Kerala. It has a warm, naturally sweet aroma and a smooth, appealing taste, and it’s one of the most widely used spices in Indian cooking. Spice Munnar’s cinnamon comes as whole sticks, carefully packed to keep its fragrance.
Why you’ll like it
- Warm, sweet aroma that stays gentle and doesn’t overpower a dish
- Whole sticks that keep their flavour longer than ground cinnamon
- 100% pure, with no additives
- Sourced from Kerala’s high ranges and packed fresh
How to use it
- Curries and biryani: drop a stick into hot oil with cloves and cardamom at the start of cooking.
- Tea and chai: simmer a small piece in your tea. Try it in our Kerala masala chai recipe.
- Desserts: infuse milk for kheer, payasam and custards.
- Homemade garam masala: dry-roast and grind it with black pepper and star anise. Our garam masala recipe shows how, or pick up the ready-made Garam Masala.
